How do we calculate the Engagement Score?
In this article, we will cover:
Engagement Scores are calculated by measuring the responses to the set of questions that QuokkaHR sends to employees. These questions are mapped to 14 key engagement drivers, which are used to calculate an Engagement Score for each employee. The score is based on the continuous responses given in a 60 days cycle to come up with the most up-to-date score.
By understanding how these scores are calculated, you can better understand how your company and team engagement level is being measured by QuokkaHR.

Scores calculation
In addition to the main driver questions, each employee will be randomly surveyed with a set of sub-drivers questions in each of the pulses. The responses to these questions are used to compute the overall engagement score. The overall engagement score of your team is calculated using the weighted average of the drivers.
Every score is calculated based on the responses of the last 60 days, the chart shows a time series based on 60 days moving average.
The individual score is the same for each person (same weight) when we compute the scores. If an employee answers the same question twice, we'll only take into account the most recent answer.
You can see the distribution of individual questions linked to sub-drivers in the Question Results
The Surveys
Each pulse survey is generated by QuokkaHR automatically and sent based on the frequency of the survey set by the Admin. The number of questions in a survey varies depending on the frequency of the surveys:
- Weekly: 5 questions
- Bi-Weely: 10 questions
- Monthly: 20 questions
A Pulse Survey is a technique for measuring something frequently and repeatedly. This means that Survey questions will come up again every 2~3 months because it’s important to be able to measure changes and see trends for every driver.
QuokkaHR creates all of the questions and surveys automatically. There's no need to manually launch anything!
